Job Description

Position: Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

up to 30 hours per week, first-shift (8 am -- 4 pm) Monday - Friday

Potentially other hours if needed to respond to emergencies

Salary & Benefits: $18.00 per hour with full benefits after 90 days which include medical, dental and vision insurance, HSA account, life insurance with short term and long

Position Reports to: President & CEO

General Statement of Duties: Responsible for maintaining the agency's buildings and grounds. Position requires attention to detail regarding the needs of the facility and ability to problem solve solutions and communicate with supervisor and staff regularly.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  2. Abide by and uphold all policies and procedures, professional codes of conduct, and required guidelines for conduct when working with vulnerable populations as outlined in the Personnel Manual.

Duties and Tasks:

  1. Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on shelter facilities, as well as off-site houses.
  2. Conduct and/or schedule consistent inspections at the emergency shelter and the agency properties per safety codes and contractual obligations.
  3. Document the above stated inspections and initiate repairs or plan to correct any identified item.
  4. Maintain the shared monthly maintenance log, vendor list and inspection document folders using Google docs.
  5. Respond to routine maintenance requests from staff submitted through the ticket system.
  6. Respond to emergency maintenance requests from staff and tenants.
  7. Complete necessary repairs, painting, and cleaning of off-site properties. Respond to emergency alarm calls, power failures, equipment malfunction, etc. according to procedure.
  8. Provide lawn maintenance, landscaping, snow clean-up and other grounds maintenance as needed.
  9. Along with the supervisor, prepare a budget each year anticipating levels of maintenance and services that must be provided by outside vendors and contractors.
  10. Ability to work with others on multi-project, prioritized tasks, and duties, performing along with evenly and fairly distributing the work.
  11. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and staff members in a timely manner as required to complete projects.
  12. Oversee work performed by contractors and vendors to assure adherence to specifications.
  13. Initiate the purchase of supplies and equipment necessary to fulfill duties.
  14. Complete bid paperwork needed according to procurement policies and contract requirements.
  15. Assist with the development and maintenance of the facilities manual.
  16. Oversee teams of volunteers providing maintenance services such as cleaning, painting, and landscaping (may require occasional weekend work).
  17. Attend monthly maintenance meetings providing updates on projects, needed resources and overall facility status.
  18. Work with any other maintenance staff members and/or volunteers to efficiently and effectively complete tasks.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

    • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum two years relevant experience required
