Position Title: Supervisor Distribution - Food Division

Location: Fishers, IN

Reports to: Manager Distribution

PrimaryPurpose of Position:

Directs and coordinates daily warehouse activity including but not limited to customer shipments, receiving, quality control, expense control and safety. Prepares and plans strategies to meet and exceed customer service requirements, maximizing productivity and implementing team goals while ensuring a safe working environment.

EssentialFunctions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for directing andleading warehouse associates in meeting daily, weekly and monthly goals.

  • Responsible for housekeeping and insuringoverall facility cleanliness

  • Maintains and improves upon trainingprograms and provides training in such areas as safety, quality and new hiredevelopment

  • Insures proper routing of shipmentsas well as dock assignments for inbound and outbound loads. Coordinatescommunications between office personnel and the warehouse to insure criticalinformation is shared as well as fosters communications and teamwork amongstaff to ensure accomplishment of operation goals.

  • Insure high quality standards are maintainedby working with QA and other departments to develop preventative and correctiveactions.

  • Read, understand and analyzeoperational reports in order to evaluate departmental performance and developaction plans for improvements.

  • Effectively and professionallycommunicate with all other facilities and vendors in order to resolve issuesand implement positive change

  • Conduct performance evaluations andassist Warehouse manager with hiring and dismissals.

  • Ensures all company policies,regulation and procedures are followed

  • Foster a positive team culture whilemaintaining high levels of employee engagement

  • Develop individual associate’sskills, standards, and morale through training and coaching. Provide positivefeedback whenever possible and disciplinary action if necessary.

  • Back-up all office or warehousepersonnel as needed

  • Ensure all warehouse activity isperformed with the highest regard for safety. Enforce all safety standards aswell as develop strategies to improve safety.

  • Poses no direct threat to the healthand safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm thatcannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonableaccommodation.

  • Requires regular attendance toperform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start andend times for work.

  • Performs such individual assignmentsas management may direct.

  • Establishes and maintains effective workrelationships within the department, the Corporation and the community;maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for thesatisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

BASICQUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of all aspects ofwarehouse operations and DOT shipping requirements

  • 3-5 years in a warehouse environmentincluding supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of federal and state DOT,OSHA, EPS, DEP, and other regulatory agencies, practices, and policies.

  • Knowledge of SAP and WarehouseManagement Systems.

  • Knowledge of lean Manufacturingprinciples.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Forklift Certified Preferred

PREFERREDEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fieldpreferred but not required

TECHNICALROLE COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent computer skills includingMicrosoft Office.

  • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills.

  • Must have solid supervisory andorganizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze problems and makejudgements to initiate corrective action.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately50% of the time

  • Standing and walking approximately50% of the time with the ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walk over roughground.

  • Must be able to travel 10-15% ofwork time.

  • Ability to work overtime oroccasionally on weekends with short notice.

  • Typical office environment withshelves overhead and above work surfaces.
