Kastle Systems Installation Technician in Falls Church, Virginia

The Installation Technician will assist in all phases of installing, testing, and troubleshooting access control and CCTV systems in Washington metropolitan area office buildings.

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot analog and network-based CCTV systems

  • Install test and troubleshoot access control systems

  • Install conduit and pull cable for video, data, and power

  • Program digital video recorders and network video recorders according to client needs

  • Diagnose CCTV system problems and determine faulty components

  • Ability to speak intelligently with network and IT personnel about IP addressing issues

  • Supervise subcontractors and other workers

  • Work with power tools

  • Interface with customers as necessary to install and test equipment

  • Train customers on operation of equipment

  • All other duties as reasonably assigned

  • Knowledge of analog and IP camera systems

  • Knowledge of access control systems

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking

  • Knowledge of programming digital video recorders (DVRs)

  • Hands‑on experience with hand and power tools

  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC theory

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use metering devices

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and carry tools and equipment not to exceed seventy‑five pounds

  • Must be able to distinguish colors

  • Must be able to interface and communicate with customers and co‑workers in a clear and professional manner

  • Candidate must be able to use MS Word, Excel, etc

  • Willingness to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision

  • Work history must display stability and good attendance

  • Ability to follow the installation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures outlined by Kastle Systems LLC

  • Desire and ability to work well with others while being self-motivated

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Neat, professional appearance

  • Must be available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends when necessary

  • Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record

  • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet state licensing requirements for security

  • Must be able to meet client background and suitability screening when required to access client’s data and/or site

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years old

  • Experience installing Cat5, Coax BNC, and Molex connectors

  • Previous electronic security, or electronics and construction experience

  • Candidate should have some CCTV experience

  • The noise level in the warehouse/stockroom environment is usually moderate but may be periodically load.

  • The employee made be exposed to moving mechanical parts, tools and vehicles.
