You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the NMC CONUS WEST DIVISION of NMC CWD DET SB/FALLBROOK ANNEX.

- You will offload and on-load ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels, and other conveyances using forklifts that can carry up to 10,000 lbs.
- You will be required to work with hazardous materials such as industrial solvents of a toxic nature and paints and will be exposed to hazards with the use of these items.
- You will insure that all program control procedures are followed in the handling of hazardous materials and utilize Material Safety Data Sheet to be aware of safety requirements when handling hazardous materials.
- You will work with ordnance material including ammunition, explosives, chemical munitions fuels, missiles and associated components, as well as inspect materials handling equipment and ordnance handling equipment as required prior to use.
- You will be responsible for accomplishing assigned work in such a manner that will ensure own personal safety and that of co-workers and complete safety courses.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Tomahawk Missile Handlers certification in accordance with SW394-EE-PRO-010.
- Obtain and maintain Technical Manual for Vertical Launching System (VLS) Canister Dockside Handling Procedures and PEOP (CU) Instruction 8023.1B, Tomahawk Support Activity, Ordnance Handler Qualification, Training, Certification and Recertification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator Certification: Shall have and maintain a valid state license appropriate to the class and size of the vehicle operated with a Hazardous Material Driver Endorsement.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain Explosive Operator Material Handling Equipment: Shall be trained and certified in accordance with NAVSEA SW023-AG-WHM-010.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain Explosive Operator Weight Handling Equipment and Ordnance Handling Equipment: Shall be certified and licensed in accordance with NAVSEA Op-5 Vol 1 and Paragraph 10-6-3 and NAVFAC P-307.
- Inspections (Intermediate): Shall inspect the material to ensure that all the processing inspection requirements have been met in accordance with NAVSUPP805, in preparation for final.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain Ordnance Materials Handlers: Shall be trained and certified within 30 days of hire and must maintain certification in accordance with OPNAVINST 8023.24 (Series), NAVMED p-117, and (Continued below)
- NAVSEA OP-5 Vol 1, Paragraph 2-3.2 and 2-3.4 and must maintain AA and E Screening in accordance with OPNAVINST 5530.13C and Lautenberg Act Screen.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
