Department Summary

The University Counseling Center (UCC) is a department in the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management. Our department seeks to integrate psychological and intellectual growth to facilitate student success in the classroom and beyond. The UCC provides individual and group therapy, consultation, education and prevention outreach, and referral services to university students. Most psychological services are covered by the mandatory health fee. The Counseling Center also provides consultation to and educational programs for faculty and staff.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director/Assistant Clinical Director participates as a member of the UCC leadership team. This position is responsible for working with the Clinical Director to coordinate quality clinical programs and services for the University community. The Assistant Director/Assistant Clinical Director coordinates the group therapy program. This position works closely with administrative staff to develop and improve administrative systems related to clinical service delivery and may supervise the Administrative Services Coordinator.

The Assistant Director/Assistant Clinical Director directly and indirectly supervises clinical staff, psychologist residents, graduate employees and trainees; provides consultation and supervision to staff regarding clinical crises provides oversight of wait list for clinical services; ensures quality control regarding clinical services; in collaboration with the Clinical Director and other leadership team members, coordinates UCC program evaluation and research/assessment efforts; supervises relief and other temporary therapists; and interfaces with the University community about UCC clinical services and mental health issues. In the Associate Director/Clinical Director's absence, this position makes decisions regarding coordination of clinical services.

Evening and weekend hours will be required.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program

and completion of an APA accredited doctoral internship;

• Licensed as a psychologist in Oregon or must be able to obtain Oregon licensure prior to starting employment

• Minimum of three years as a licensed psychologist in a university counseling center;

• Prior experience in clinical administrative and supervisory roles, including supervising

unlicensed and licensed counselors and/or psychologists;

• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment

• Demonstrated experience providing data driven decision-making and leadership in a college or mental health setting

• Excellent organizational and communication skills;

• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills;

• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and demands

• Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of a multicultural organization and to effectively address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
