Job Overview

Responsible for technical sales support on Advanced Voice services to achieve target budget for the sales professionals with which they are aligned. Act as the technical expert during the presales process and provide experienced support to the customer's technical team to bridge their need with Comcast services and products. Works as a collaborative member of the sales team to market and sell the Company's voice product lines including Comcast Managed Voice, PRI, SIP Trunks, Hospitality and BCI services as a bundle or standalone offer.

Core Responsibilities

- Drive sales through technical sales support, coaching and development of Comcast Business Services sales professionals Voice services to mid-size and large businesses and government, education and medical institutional clients. Through coaching and technical sales, support driving sales closure to shorten the sales cycle and ensure sales goals and objectives are achieved. As part of sales process, play key role in the preparation of RFP's, designing cost-effective solutions and solving prospect configuration challenges. Participate in the creation and delivery of high-level face-to-face sales presentations that demonstrate technical knowledge of the latest Comcast products and services.

- Analyze customer requirements and needs to understand how Comcast products and services can be applied to meet these needs and solve their problems. Design solutions for the customer that meet their business. Translates complex technical design requirements into information that the customer can understand and respond to. Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Comcast in the marketplace. Respond requests for bids and proposals by providing fully documented technical solution (with diagrams) that clearly outline all technical components of solution.

- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and service delivery teams to complete all required elements of engineering study for all new build sales opportunities and works with outside plant and equipment vendors to ensure most cost effective methods are used in design of all new build projects. Assure Comcast and customer installation readiness.

- In support of SMB Sales professionals and Enterprise Account Executives, assure completion of all appropriate paperwork in support of customer Trunked Voice Solutions network design and contract completion. Set appropriate expectations on timeline and project completion and provide regular project updates to internal customers (sales, engineering, technical operations).

- Will ensure that phone systems are PRI capable, particularly if they are a hybrid and have a card and an available "slot' in the chassis Assess the DMARC for space and power

- Will assist with the Design Review Meeting ensuring the optimum configuration relative to: signaling ( NI2, E&M wink, D4AMI, B8ZS, ESF ), # of channels/trunks, # of DID/DOD blocks, Toll-free with DNIS digits, FAX lines and Alarm lines OFF our circuit and not thru the PBX

- Adherence to all company standards and business professionalism.


- Analyze customer requirements and needs to understand how Comcast products and services can be applied to meet the needs of the customer.

- Translate technical design requirements and create and deliver sales presentations that demonstrate technical knowledge of Comcast products and services.

- Prepare proposals that include cost effective solutions for customers while solving potential configuration challenges.

- Recommend appropriate product bundles with accurate pricing promotional discounts for multi-product orders.

- Set appropriate expectations and follow up with the customer on project timeline and completion.

- Drive sales closure to shorten the sales cycle and ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

- Train and coach sales professionals to understand and successfully sell advanced voice solutions.

- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

- Bachelor's Degree or Eqivalent

- Engineering

- CCDA/CCNA preferred

- Generally requires 3-5 years related experience.

Additional Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years in technical sales engineering/support role in the telecommunications industry. CLEC background with strong "voice" and IAD expertise preferred

- Adept in developing and delivering technical presentations

- Strong ability to engage with the technical contact ( most likely 3rd party Interconnect/phone vendor ) and in-house IT contact and QUALIFY the prospect

- Ability to explain how we deliver "converged" ( data, voice, video ) services and our EDGE IAD i.e. Adtran CPE

- Ability to explain how we are positioned from a CPE perspective, to deliver SIP

- Excellent project management skills

- Successful track record related to selling complex voice solutions

- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts in simple and understandable terms to a layperson

- Strong presentation skills in a professional sales environment

- Results driven with focus on goal achievement

- Ability to create technical designs and diagrams of proposed customer solutions

- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word

- Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly in a fast paced environment.

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all business matters

- Valid drivers license and safe driving record. Must have reliable transportation.
