Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado Payroll Coordinator in Denver, Colorado

Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our Denver team. The Payroll Coordinator plans and performs all duties relating to the effective and accurate payment and tracking of all payroll expenses for Goodwill Industries of Denver. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have experience processing payroll and applying payroll laws and policies as appropriate, and be customer-service driven. The Payroll Coordinator works under the general direction and supervision of the Payroll Manager and is frequently in communication with other departments within Goodwill Industries of Denver and Discover Goodwill as well as outside agencies regarding payroll related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS : A high school diploma, GED or its equivalent is required with bookkeeping and accounting knowledge. Appropriate experience may be substituted. Basic payroll knowledge, laws, and policies and procedures. Ability to work in a high pace environment with:

Technical Skills Required: 10-Key by touch, Typing at least 30 WPM, working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Excellent customer service skills with basic knowledge of email and phone communications. Must have a solid background in applying accounting and payroll procedures. Computerized payroll system experience in UltiPro and Assure Force is essential to this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Customer related functions: assist all department managers and executive staff with any questions related to payroll, payroll procedures or assistance needed in a timely and professional manner.

Task related functions-daily, weekly and monthly basis:

  • Complete all payroll data entry duties to include, new hire bank deposit and pay card information, bus pass and uniform deductions, employee garnishments, and processing verification of employment.

  • Process workflows for involuntary and voluntary terminations as well as department changes within legal compliance guidelines set forth for the organization.

  • Process and complete instant manual checks and any off-cycle paychecks deemed necessary within the parameters of the defined payroll policies and procedures.

  • Research and resolve and payroll related issues such as ACH returns, paid time off errors, bank reconciliations and review of time-card entries and errors.

  • Assist with the calculations for payroll taxes in a timely manner as needed.

  • Maintain complete confidentiality for all finance, employee records and information.

  • Inform the Payroll Manager of cases where any employee records and information to correct payroll procedures.

  • All other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Payroll Manager.

This is a full-time position, generally working from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
