JOB TITLE: Clinical Research Coordinator II

LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Cancer SL Research Center West

WORK SCHEDULE: Days

WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE)

JOB SUMMARY :

Coordinates study participation Intuitional for patients associated with the Geisinger Cancer Institute Research Program. Responsible for record interpretation maintenance and submission to cooperative group and National Cancer Institute (NCI). Serves as the primary contact for study group communication.

Works under direct supervision of the Manager, Oncology Clinical Research, the Associate Director, Oncology Research Operations, and the Chair for the Cancer Institute.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated knowledge of microcomputer operations, applications software and an understanding of mathematical calculations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduated from an approved School of Nursing. Requires a registered nurse currently licensed or eligible to be licensed in Pennsylvania. BSN preferred.

Requires at least two years clinical experience. Experience in Hematology/Oncology preferred.

Requires six months to one year on the job training to become familiar with contacts, research protocols, and reporting requirements.

Certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals is preferred. Achievement of certification after two years’ experience in the position is required.
