Position Summary:

Support planning and budgeting activities for the Real Estate and Workplace Services department. Support financial analysis for developing strategic initiatives. Analyze department trends and update specific Workplace Services departments on issues that may affect their operations. Provide data to monitor the competitiveness of Workplace Services organizations and offer solutions to improve performance. Develop effective working relationships within Workplace Services organizations, and with internal and external customers. Support the preparation of presentations to higher level Management. Support Building Maintenance Mechanics with PeopleSoft expenses.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Support the planning and budgeting activities for the O&M and/or Capital resource allocation process, including long-range forecasts, detail budgets, re-projections and contingency plans.

  2. Evaluates research data, and assists to develop integrated business analysis and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.

  3. Support decisions affecting operation and maintenance activities, capital investment, customer service levels, and profitability objectives.

  4. Perform analysis of systems and support follow through the full development life cycle.

  5. Define and maintain formal “business plan(s)” ensuring that business plan objectives are met.

  6. Support total cost of ownership models to address elements of the landed cost elements, carrying cost elements and administrative cost elements.

  7. Demonstrate skills for comparing complex solutions.

  8. Perform analysis including, but not limited to:

  9. Benchmarking analysis

  10. Supplier scorecard creation and updates

  11. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys

  12. Conduct contract management analysis which includes monitoring rate and price variances and rogue spend analysis.

  13. Leverage all available data sources – Workplace Services and Business Unit SME's, accounting, purchasing, engineering, sales, supplier, etc.

  14. Understand and effectively influence the multiple processes and components of the organization and its stakeholders; act in ways that optimize business performance.

  15. Provide process support including response to user questions, problem diagnosis and research, troubleshooting, tracking, and resolution.

Maintain records, documentation, manuals, and prepare status reports

Minimum requirements for workplace Svcs Bus Analyst:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with (2) years of experience in finance or accounting policies related to real estate, facilities maintenance, or construction projects.

Experience: A minimum of (4) years of experience in finance or accounting policies related to real estate, facilities maintenance, or construction projects, in addition to any years of experience noted above.

Minimum requirements for workplace Svcs Bus Analyst Sr:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with (2) years of experience in finance or accounting policies related to real estate, facilities maintenance, or construction projects.

Experience: A minimum of (6) years of experience in finance or accounting policies related to real estate, facilities maintenance, or construction projects, in addition to any years of experience noted above.

Requirements other:

Prior experience in a functional Business Unit (Generation,

Transmission, or Distribution), and/or Corporate Finance and/or Operating Company finance, and/or engineering related field is preferred.

Proficiency in UI Budgets, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and Business Objects relational

database reporting desired.

Extensive coordination efforts with corporate finance, corporate planning & budgeting,

Accounting/tax, commercial operations, generation and transmission, regulatory, requiring the

incumbent to work across functional boundaries.

Familiarity with AEP accounting and use of Chartfields Chart fields desired.
