Vertiv Corporation Preferred Account Representative, Channel IT Solutions in Columbus, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY The Preferred Account Representative is a sales professional specializing in outreach to end users to generate leads and close sales. This role will contact target end user prospective customers to promote Vertiv IT Solutions. This position is part of the channel inside sales organization supporting Vertiv's field sales organization. The primary focus of this role will be to work with Vertiv sales teams in an assigned region to prospect into, qualify, and establish introductions by setting up a meeting with key decision makers and influencers of end-users within specified, net-new target accounts. RESPONSIBILITIES * Makes outbound calls daily to target customers and directly engage key decision makers to introduce Vertiv IT Solutions and support capabilities. * Determines near-term IT infrastructure or IT management requirements from customer. * Details products and services to promote the advantages of Vertiv. * Works with customer to identify needs and provide best Vertiv solution. * Answers basic technical questions about company products. * Reviews company inventory, shipping deliveries, manufacturing timeline, etc. to ensure products and services desired can be delivered to customer given their expectations/needs. * Provides information on product availability and budgetary pricing, as well as competitive or legacy portfolio cross-referencing suggestions. * Understands customer existing reseller relationships or understands how the customer would procure the solution. * Leverages data sources provided by internal sources; proactively uncovers contacts from external sources. * Coordinates with appropriate resellers and/or Vertiv field sales teams on opportunities. * Generates, updates and tracks CRM opportunities, whether originated or assigned. * Responds accurately and timely to all requests from assigned region(s). * Achieves and surpasses assigned quota from smaller opportunities. * Works on related projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in a business related or technical field preferred (or equivalent of education and experience) * Minimum of 3 years' experience in outbound calling or direct selling. * Demonstrated success in business development preferably in outbound calling or direct selling. * Must be computer literate and comfortable using the Microsoft Office product suite. * Proven performance in achieving assigned sales quota. * Highly accurate with good attention to details. * Adaptable to new ideas. * Demonstrated highly motivated self-starter who can work well in a team setting or independently handling multiple tasks simultaneously. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluent English. * Knowledge of IT infrastructure technology, including software, hardware, and/or networking preferred.
