POSITION SUMMARY

Performs supportive work under the direction of the Community Relations and Marketing team. Responsible for engaging, educating and promoting the benefits of COTA's All For One Pass Program and developing other OSU partnerships. Other responsibilities include designing, producing, and implementing a strategic marketing and outreach plan to maximize ridership and to increase the public value of COTA as a service and a brand on campus. This unique position offers a student the opportunity to operate their own advertising, marketing, and communications agency as well as manage their own budget, with direction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the development of COTA's strategic Marketing and Outreach Plan;

  • Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies aimed at targeted OSU audiences through both traditional and non-traditional marketing mediums.

  • Assist in the development of appropriate, understandable and meaningful external messaging targeting OSU audiences;

  • Assist the Community Relations and Marketing team with the planning and execution of special projects and events;

  • Assist with the development of written, web and social media content; and

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs other duties as assigned; and

  • Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Requires enrollment in college in a Bachelor's or Master's level program.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • None.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures;

  • Knowledge of the MS Office (or similar) package, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint;

  • Knowledge of social media platforms;

  • Skills in verbal and written communication;

  • Skills in human relations;

  • Ability to learn new computer programs (software and applications); and

  • Ability to present a positive image of COTA to the public over the telephone and in person.
