Trinity Health Medication Assisted Treatment Advanced Practice Nurse PT in Clinton, Iowa
POSITION PURPOSE The Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Advanced Practice Nurse is a member of the Mercy Medical Center's healthcare team serving as a clinician, team member, and professional who provides quality patient care to those with opioid misuse disorder. The Advanced Practice Nurse will collaborate with the MAT Nurse Coordinator, supervising physician and outside community agencies named in the grant to partner with and provide care and services to clients and families to optimize recovery, and connect clients to appropriate and timely substance misuse treatment. The MAT Advanced Practice Nurse will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive health assessment, prescribing medication such as Buprenorphine to treat opioid misuse disorder and formulating a treatment plan in conjunction with the MAT Nurse Coordinator. The MAT Advanced Practice Nurse will collaborate with the MAT Nurse Coordinator to collect data, including pertinent patient data and patient outcomes that may be utilized for research study purposes.
Active Advanced Practice Nurse licensure – Board of Nursing, State of Iowa and Illinois. Minimum of three years of work experience in health care delivery preferred especially in the areas of substance abuse prevention, mental health, group facilitation, and public speaking. Must provide proof of active Basic Life Support certification. Current DEA license. Good working knowledge of federal, state and accrediting body regulations. Possess good communication, leadership skills and be capable of problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to multi-task and establish priorities. Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Utilize computers for documentation and other relevant activities. Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GroupWise), Health Stream, Intranet; and use of reporting tools. Helpful to have experience with Cerner Power Chart or software programs such as VOICE (or other incident reporting system). Possess time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work/projects. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to people across all levels & diverse backgrounds; ability to handle interactions with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Demonstrate leadership abilities in the areas of consensus and team building, employee engagement, delegation, conflict management, change initiatives, critical thinking, etc. Must be flexible and demonstrate a great tolerance for change with ability to manage self and others through change. Able to gather information, analyze data using statistical methods, document findings and make appropriate recommendations for change and improvement. Possesses a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, culture and values of Mercy Medical Center-Clinton, MHN, and Trinity Health.
