Trinity Health Accreditation and Patient Safety Coordinator FT in Clinton, Iowa

The Accreditation and Patient Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, administration, and monitoring of consistent readiness of all regulatory requirements. This includes oversight and coordination of all hospital efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with all Regulatory, State, Federal government, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization standards. Additionally as a risk manager, promotes a culture of safety, proactively mitigating risks and actively investigating incidents to identify improvement opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate Degree in nursing, with active Iowa license or other related healthcare degree. Masters’ Degree desired. Patient Safety Officer or Joint Commission Certification required or completed within two-years of hire. Minimum of five years’ health care quality/safety/regulatory experience required. Extensive knowledge of the hospital and healthcare operations, critical quality management and safety components and processes within hospitals. Knowledge of current research in patient safety, culture of safety, and Just Culture. Strong leadership abilities. Excellent ability to effectively manage projects and initiatives, turning concept into reality and ultimately measurable results. Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, bring together diverse groups in a collaborative and effective manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough understanding of the leadership challenges and processes inside hospitals. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to successfully influence/persuade others without authority or control over them. Must be able to access compliance with standards of external regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, relating to quality and appropriateness of patient care. Ability to use sound judgment and deductive reasoning. Maintain highest professional standards and ethics. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motive others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
