PrimaryResponsibilities:

  • Organize,analyze and coordinate information received for new business proposal to meetspecific needs of the Request for Proposal (RFP)

  • Act in aconsulting capacity with the sales executive and carriers to determine the mostappropriate marketing strategy dependent upon group characteristics

  • Send RFPs toStop Loss Carrier(s)

  • Continuedmonitoring of each RFP to ensure maximum number of competitive quotes received.This includes daily checks of declines and additional information requests

  • Directworkflow by consulting with internal departments / individuals (including butnot limited to: Sales, Account Management, Product, Legal, BusinessDevelopment, Billing, Claim and Implementation) to manage proposal process

  • Directworkflow by consulting with external individuals (including but not limited to:Stop Loss Carrier Sales, Underwriting and Management, as well as broker andcustomer interaction) to manage proposal process

  • Participatein RFP strategy calls

  • Coordinateproposal and renewal process for receipt and delivery

  • Maintainconsistent quality while staying current with increased complexity of the role(carrier requirements, renewals, regulatory compliance)

  • Manage NewBusiness Implementation process for Stop Loss services

  • Ensuretimelines and deadlines are met

  • Preparerenewal information by running necessary reports and evaluating accuracy andcompleteness of the information

  • Maintainoperations by following policies, procedures and reporting changes as needed

  • Directsdisclosure process with carrier to ensure all requirements are met

  • Thelocations for this position are Wausau, WI, Cincinatti, OH, San Antonio, TX,and Onalaska, WI

  • Focus onunderstanding and managing customer needs; position UMR’s products and servicesin terms of the customer's viewpoint

  • CommunicationSkills - Strong written communication skills; effectively position UMR’sproducts against our competitors; work directly with stop loss vendors toobtain and finalize high - quality proposals or renewals; convey complexthought both written and oral in a clear, concise manner; initiate timely,appropriate communication with others; listen well and ask pointed questions togain information or clarify meaning to ensure high - quality work

  • Alliance -Building Skills - Create, build and maintain relationships that enhance bothindividual performance and the performance of the unit, including those outsidehis / her own unit; resolve conflicts; invite others to share perspectives;respect differing points of view; strong negotiation skills

Required Qualifications:

  • High schooldiploma / GED or higher

  • Solidcomputer skills, especially in Microsoft Word (ability to edit, create save andsend spreadsheets and document), Microsoft Excel (ability to edit, create saveand send spreadsheets and document), Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to edit,create save and send spreadsheets and document) and online formats

Preferredqualifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegree or higher

  • Stop lossknowledge

  • Self -starter; able to work with minimal guidance; seeking guidance on only the mostcomplex tasks

  • Provenability to think innovatively and creatively and resolve complex issues

  • Solidcomputer skills, especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online formats
