National University Part Time Student Services Representative in Chula Vista, California

Position Summary:

Student Services Representative assists with admissions, enrollments, and student services. Engages in daily recruitment and support services for prospective and current students. Provides direct support services and timely responses to students and parents. Services include, but are not limited to student recruitment, admissions, enrollments, student support, and records functions. This position requires periodic weekend assignments (Saturday) during the summer term.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides current and prospective high school students and parents with pertinent information regarding NUVHS programs, course options, fees, and general school information.

  • Responds to specific prospective student/parent inquiries by telephone and email.

  • Retrieves voice messages and provides prompt responses and resolutions to customer inquiries and/or concerns.

  • Navigates the customer relations management system (RightNow) for email communications.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Requirements:

Education & Experience

Education:

  • High School diploma; one year of college preferred

Experience:

  • Prefer minimum one (1) year administrative office experience in a professional environment.

  • Prefer experience in K-12 academic/admissions counseling, customer service, call center, or related support area with assisting clients, parents or students.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in using computers, including Microsoft Office software suite.

  • Technical / Functional Skills

  • Strong customer service focused skills; ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a demanding position.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.

  • Must have strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.

  • Hours of Work

  • Hours may vary between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday ? Friday; 10-28 hours per week; additional hours and Saturday work hours may be necessary due to business needs.

Physical Demands / Environment

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal. The work is performed in an office environment.
