PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Identify, evaluate and analyze the strategic policy options to facilitate the Exelon Utility of the Future investment model. Help lead the development of the policy framework intended to further the Utility of the Future investment strategy. Identify and develop innovative revenue mechanisms and alternative rate designs associated with the Utility of the Future business model and direct the analysis of revenue, customer, and reputational impacts of various policy initiatives amongst the utility opcos. Evaluate strategic impacts of specific utility opco policy initiatives.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support identification and development of innovative revenue mechanisms and alternative rate design methodologies associated with the Utility of the Future business model. This requires using strong analytical skills and an in-depth working knowledge of legal, regulatory and financial concepts and standards unique to the industry.

Interface with key internal stakeholders (Exelon utility opco regulatory and legislative business units, GRAPP, Communications, and others) on policy issues relating to Utility of the Future.

Support development of policy and policy framework necessary to drive investment strategy relative to the Utility of the Future

Lead evaluation of enterprise impacts of specific utility opco policy initiatives

Perform analysis on proposed legislative and/or regulation against Exelon policy objectives

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Preferred:

BS or BA degree in business, economics, finance, or other related discipline

Advanced degree in Business, Economics or Law highly desirable

Ten or more years’ experience in the rate design, regulatory, financial, strategic planning, marketing, or economic analysis areas

Must possess working knowledge of the existing rules and regulations applicable to Exelon Utility opcos.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must possess highly effective interpersonal skills to interface with key members of the internal stakeholder community.

Excellent analytical skills and creative thinking skills are required to evaluate strategic options.

Must possess broad understanding of Company strategy and business practices, the workings of the wholesale and retail electricity markets as well as the federal and Exelon utility opco regulatory landscape.

Demonstrated knowledge of principles of management, finance, budgeting and supervision.

POSITION SCOPE

This position has a direct impact on the successful development and implementation of the Exelon Utilities’ strategic initiatives, with a direct impact on the Company’s bottom line.
