Senior Operations Analyst
The Senior Operations Analyst (‘Senior Analyst’) position is responsible for the direction and management of the administrative operations of Rush’s investment program (as defined below). The Senior Analyst will be responsible for activities that primarily support the implementation of investment policy and on-going management of the program including portfolio cash management, custody relationship management, limited partnership investment reporting and investment accounting and audit support. The Senior Analyst will work collaboratively with investment partners and stakeholders to ensure the safekeeping of Rush’s assets and that all objectives of the program are met. The investment program shall be managed consistent with the responsibilities of a fiduciary or a steward of a public trust. Manage relationships with key operational service providers and serve as the primary liaison with the custodian bank on all investment accounting and operational issues including establishing targeted service level standards.
Conduct portfolio cash management duties including investment activity requiring cash transfers for portfolio implementation, investment manager fees, rebalancing and for general portfolio liquidity purposes.
Obtains required authorizations, recording and documenting activity and reconciling cash movements with the custodian.
Monitors daily cash positions for each of the portfolios to maintain and prepares monthly cash flow analysis.
Reviews and processes capital calls and distributions for private equity and other limited partnership investments.
Maintain and modify as necessary the information and technology infrastructure tracking all private equity data including updates to the private equity database for all cash flows in order calculate internal rates of return, public market equivalents and other private equity performance metrics.
Manage the subscription and redemption processes for separate accounts, mutual funds and private funds Coordinate with external counsel for legal review of private partnership documents for new investments and prepare and submit all closing documentation.
Responsible for investment reporting including the reconciliation of reports generated by the custodian bank and investment managers.
Develop procedures and processes related to document management and retention to support timely and accurate investment reporting and analysis.
Manage communications with external auditors including providing necessary information on all accounting and operational aspects of the investment program.
Maintains and develops relationships with internal departments, the investment advisor and investment managers as required to maintain accurate and timely data reporting and accounting.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field required.
Investment operations or accounting experience with 5-7 years of experience required.
Willingness to pursue a master’s degree or professional certification is preferred.
Previous experience in health care, endowment or foundation, or custodian bank is preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Investment knowledge or a willingness to learn and develop the necessary investment acumen through day-to-day responsibilities, internal discussions and meetings with external asset managers.
Ability to communicate and engage with others and can articulate information simply and concisely both orally and in writing.
Ability to lead and execute change with a bias towards complexity reduction.
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining focus on organization and department goals.
