Trinity Health Nurse Educator in Chicago, Illinois

The nurse educator is responsible for planning, coordinating, evaluating and revising the centralized orientation and other education programs for staff in Patient Care Services. In addition, the nurse educator serves as a liaison with education institutions using Mercy Hospital and Medical Center as a student educational site. Current Illinois State license RN BSN required, MSN preferred. Current CPR. Experience teaching as an educator, a minimum of 3-5 years relevant clinical experience, with 2 years in education. Assists with Nursing and C.N.A. orientation In conjunction with the Director of Education, coordinates and implements activities for staff development. Identifies best practice related to educational strategies, in-services and onsite education programs. Plans, coordinates and evaluates specific competency skills training. Develops educational materials using a variety of print and electronic formats to meet objectives Works collaboratively with clinical staff in planning and developing CE programs Coordinates and ensures educational programs are in compliance with regulatory agencies relevant to education. Participates in the Nurse Residency Program
