As a law clerk, you will work in the Legal Department , perform legal research and analyze case law, statutes and regulations with a focus on consumer finance law . In addition, you will draft legal memos and other documents and help with other transactional projects. You will work with a talented team of lawyers who will value your contribution, mentor you professionally, and share valuable professional expertise. Our law clerk will have the opportunity to make an immediate contribution to our Legal team while building marketable work experience.

Positions are available during the fall or spring semesters and during summer months. We provide complete training and support. Upon graduation, depending on business need, successful law clerks may have the opportunity to continue their career as a Full-Time member at OneMain Financial.

Ideal candidates for a OneMain law clerk position will have high energy and the drive to succeed, and will fit the following profile:

  • Minimum of one-year law school education required

  • Strong legal research, analytical and critical-thinking skills

  • Excellent academic record

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated/flexible/team player

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Willing to work some evenings

  • Prior work experience or interest in consumer finance law is a plus

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualification
