The Event Planner will be responsible for working closely with State Presidents and key partners within each market in planning and coordinating special events and corporate functions. Key emphasis will be on support to the field as needed. This includes coordination of client conferences, business meetings, dinners or receptions. The planner will also be responsible for activation strategy related to corporate and industry sponsorships. Additional duties include serving as a project lead and executing all aspects of event planning including site/speaker selection, contract negotiation and marketing communications/collateral. This role will also develop budget proposals and audits bills from suppliers. Deploys external surveys and conducts full post-mortem review and prepares metrics summary and final evaluation of program.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

n

1. Plans and coordinates special events for corporate functions, including conferences, workshops, business meetings, dinners and receptions.

2. Works with States President and key partners within each market to develop marketing and goals and create marketing strategy, agenda, collateral, and communication plan.

n

3. Works with internal stakeholders to select speakers and coordinates all aspects of their engagement from fee negotiation, contracting to onsite participation.

n

4. Determines event site and venue. Negotiates pricing, concessions and contract terms.

n

5. Develops project timeline and supports all logistics including lodging, travel, menu selections, audio visual arrangements, entertainment, public relations, security, social media, marketing collateral, internal communications, etc.

6. Leads development of invitations, collateral, programs, handouts.

n

7. Manages registration, attendance and post-event communication.

n

8. Develops budget for the event, negotiates the terms for the required services and manages vendors/suppliers. Audits invoices from vendors/suppliers.

n

9. Develops and executes activation strategy for corporate sponsorships including target market outreach, social and digital media, public relationships, and internal communication. Negotiates sponsorship benefits with organizers.

10. Organizes and supports execution of drip campaigns, calling campaign, press releases, and other external marketing efforts.

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

+ 3+ years of event planning experience preferred



n

+ 3+ years financial services experience preferred



n

+ Knowledge of conference planning usually obtained through a formal degree program in marketing, hotel management or industry certification such as CMP is preferred



n

+ Experience with social media preferred

+ Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, analytical, problem solving and strategic planning, project management



n

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with and understand team needs and respond quickly with appropriate solutions



n

+ Strong computer skills with emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint



n

+ Knowledge/proficient in use of Partner Workstation (SalesForce) and other database management and marketing automation tools including Marketo

+ Strong analytical skills
