General Summary: Works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The SJMC Sleep Disorders Center uses the Nihon Kohden Polysmith data acquisition system and we are working with an adult patient population ages 16 years or older.
The SJMC Sleep Disorders Center staffs in 12 hour shifts.
Gathers and analyze patient information
Prepare testing procedures.
Perform polysomnographic procedures such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Sleep Study, C-Pap.
Scores polysomnographic record.
Complies with laws, regulations, guidelines and standards of AASM regarding safety and infection control issues.
Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance.
Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory.
Maintain current BCLS certification.
Prefer a candidate with scoring proficiency as studies are scored on-the-fly each night. Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography or successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and /or a nationally accredited educational facility and Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
