The Legal Department is seeking an experienced attorney to join its mortgage litigation team.

Provides substantive legal advice on matters for management of the Corporation and its principal subsidiaries to assist them in planning and policy setting. Represents the Corporation and its subsidiaries in court and in out-of-court negotiations and settlements of domestic or foreign legal issues of importance. Within respective area of responsibility or specialization, evaluates the impact of all major changes in the law and assesses the impact on the Corporation's policies and operating procedures. May take an active role in the education and training of less experienced counsels or paralegals. May be recognized, both within the Corporation and among the general legal profession, as an accomplished authority on legal matters.

Location: Des Moines, Charlotte or Minneapolis

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney

  • Active State Bar membership

  • Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
