At Walt Disney Studios, we have a culture and workplace that encourages collaboration and innovation. We are seeking an exceptional, well-rounded executive to be our Director of Facilities & Space Planning.

Primary Focus Areas:

  • Develop spaces that allow groups and individuals to interact, communicate, and build relationships

  • Create multiple types of spaces embedded within the workplace to engage all employees and foster visibility and openness in their work and spontaneous interactions

Responsibilities :

The Day-to-Day:

  • Direct staff of two to support approx. 1800 employees

  • Partner with leadership across production, talent, human resources, technology, and finance in the development of short term and long term workplace strategies (i.e., real estate, office design)

  • Liaise and collaborate with partners in Corporate Real Estate (TWDC) to ensure their teams and our staff are set up to do their best work

  • Develop reconfiguration/move strategies and partner with Corporate Real Estate Operations for execution of moves and department reconfigurations

  • Collaborate with Corporate Real Estate design team for the management of various furniture lines in various building locations on studio lot and Glendale

  • Coordinate with Corporate Real Estate Operations for warehouse furniture and reconfigurations

  • Develop and improve all elements of facilities

  • Align BU requests/needs with budget guidelines

  • Build and maintain strong strategic relationships and partnerships with all backlot trades and Operations teams, including security and janitorial

  • Guide BU leads through the Corporate construction process, beginning with defining scope to design/deliver through construction

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in a management level / leadership capacity

  • Knowledge of building space allocation, layout, facilities expansion and planning

  • Ability to prioritize varying needs of the organization with an empathetic attitude and excellent communication skills on all channels

  • Inspiring leadership of direct reports and the organization at large

  • Experience scaling workplace programs for approx. 1800 employees

  • Desire to create a best in class workplace experience

  • Motivated self-starter, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Workplace Strategy + Design
