The Mechanical Project Engineer reports to Project Engineering EDP (Engineering Development Program) Leader and is responsible for supporting the Brunswick Mill Visions and creating long term value by successfully managing all aspects of project execution for assigned projects. This role focuses on implementing all phases and steps of the project work process for capital and expense investments. The project manager will work closely with other project managers, process control engineers, maintenance, E&I, outside contractors, equipment suppliers, and operations. Expectations are for the project manager to execute successful projects safely, on time, & within budget.A Day In The Life Typically Includes:Supporting Brunswick Mill VisionsEmbracing and applying theMarket Based ManagementFramework and Guiding PrinciplesSupporting the mill in achieving compliance in environmental, health, and safetySupporting the mill in achieving targets for (Environmental Health and Safety) EHS, quality, costs, reliability, and productionLeveraging current and future technologies with digital transformation and factory of the future activitiesUtilizing design for reliability process for new assetsPerforming project engineering/management work with a focus in the paper machine area and other areas of the mill as neededCompleting project engineering team onboarding process and learning mill software tools, programs, and systemsCompleting Georgia Pacific EDP TrainingCompleting required MBM TrainingUtilizing good written and verbal communication skillsWorking independently (self-directed), as part of a team and at building and leading teamsWhat You Will Need:Basic Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of 2.8 or higherOne (1) year of internship/co-op in an industrial or manufacturing environmentExperience with MS Office SuiteWhat Will Put You Ahead?Preferred Qualifications:Previous work experience (internship/co-op) with Georgia PacificExperience with ACAD and/or Solid WorksExperience with MS ProjectGP Cellulose is a leading producer of high-quality fluff pulps, meeting the needs of the personal hygiene industry and disposable absorbent products manufacturers around the globe.
