Colleges of the Fenway Care Specialist - Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts
The Care Specialist provides outreach, case management, and referrals to on-campus and off-campus resources for students who need additional support. The Care Specialist will work with students who are experiencing challenges with college transition, physical or mental health, personal or family difficulties, and/or financial and/or basic needs insecurity. The Care Specialist will work directly with students who?ve experienced time away from campus for medical and/or mental health reasons to facilitate their transition back to campus. This requires successful collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including by not limited to the student, family members, treatment providers, other Student Affairs staff, academic deans/department chairs, the Student Service Center (Registrar, Financial Services, Financial Aid), and faculty. The CARE Specialist will work closely with the Center for Wellness, as well as the University Care Team and the Behavioral Intervention Response Team (BIRT). The Care Specialist serves as a general resource for members of the Wentworth community who are seeking guidance and advice about services for students. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with students at risk and excellent organizational and administrative skills. The Care Specialist does not provide clinical therapy to students. The Care Specialist reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Associate Dean of Students.
