The Department of Construction Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, starting the Fall of 2020. Primary responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, curriculum and laboratory development, scholarly activities, service, student recruitment, and establishing strong relationships with the construction industry. The CM program is accredited by ACCE. The applicants will teach lectures and labs in the CM department. The successful candidate is expected to be an excellent teacher and mentor who will lead core and elective courses in support of the Departments programs in Construction Management, MS in Construction Management, as well as new curricular initiatives, and developing interdisciplinary, project-based courses. Additionally, to the CM degree the department offers concentrations in Facilities Management and Real Estate Development which the potential candidate has the opportunity to contribute as well.
Wentworth Institute of Technology is a private, technical design and engineering regional university located in the heart of Boston. EPIC Experiential Learning is the very essence of Wentworths commitment to learning by doing. With more than 400 undergraduates, construction management is one of most popular majors at Wentworth. The Department currently has 12 full-time faculty and 7 part-time/adjunct faculty members as of the Fall 2019 semester.

REQUIREMENTS: A Masters degree in Construction Management or a related field as well as at least three years of industry experience preferably in building construction is acceptable. The candidate will be required to obtain a certificate or license (CCM, PE or CPC) within two years of employment. Teaching experience at the university level is required as well as a willingness to engage in distance learning activities. Substantial experience in the industry and demonstrated ability to teach may be substituted for full time teaching experience at the university level. Strong interpersonal communication skills as well as solid computer skills are necessary.
PREFERRED: An earned doctorate in construction management or closely related field is preferred.
