We are a welcoming campus that supports diversity and inclusion.&&&&&b&Position Overview&/b&&&&& The Special Education Statewide Instructional Coordinator works to develop and maintain a sound working relationship as a collegiate team member with all staff at State Department of Education (SDE) Division of Special Education, Boise State University SESTA and all staff with Idaho Special Education Supports and Technical Assistance (SESTA). The Special Education Statewide Instructional Coordinator will develop instructional supports to increase statewide capacity of education systems for students with disabilities age 3 through 21. &&&&&b& The Instructional Coordinator must be able to travel statewide throughout the year. This position is based in Eastern Idaho and will be required to telecommute. Travel to Yanke Research Building at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho as determined necessary. &/b&&&&&&b&&&&/b& &&&&&b&Essential Duties and Responsibilities&/b& &&&& Plan, organize, and provide instructional support and professional development on special education instructional issues. &&&& 80% Statewide, Regional and District Level &&&&Coordinate supports related to data-based decision making, evidence-based instructional practices related to special education services. &&&&&li& Provide direct technical assistance to districts as requested by SDE. &&&&&/li&&li& Support implementation of State Systemic Improvement Plan by participating in the identified professional development activities and supporting identified districts. &&&&&/li&&li& Provide instructional support for improved outcomes for students with disabilities. &&&&&/li&&li& Support statewide monitoring efforts to achieve identified measurable results. &&&&&/li&&li& Provide training and support on the special education process, including identification and development of quality IEPs that lead to improved outcomes for students with disabilities. &&&&&/li&&li& Create modules and/or documents to support district staff including special education teachers, related service providers and paraprofessionals in the special education process. &&&&&/li&&li& Create guidance documents in collaboration with the SDE and LEAs based on identified needs. &&&&&/li&&li& Assess and analyze effectiveness of professional development. &&&&&/li&&li& Adjust professional development, as needed, based on data analysis &&&&20% Collaboration and Team Work &&&&&/li&&li& Work effectively (internally) as a team member to promote team goals and maintain a positive team climate. Work proactively (externally), providing customer service, to build positive relationships and partnerships with districts and schools. &&&&&/li&&li& Represent the State Department of Education, Division of Special Education, and Idaho SESTA in a professional capacity on a variety of councils, task forces, work groups, and committees as requested. &&&&&/li&&li& Coordinate with state and LEA improvement activities with LEAs/agencies. &&&&&/li&&li& Participate in identified professional development activ ties both individually and as a team. &&&&&/li&&li& Attend required conference calls and webinars with SESTA and SDE staff. &&&&&/li&&li& Provide quarterly report of activities. &&&&&b& &/b&&&&&&b& Minimum Qualifications (Including Certificates and Licenses) &/b&&&&&&ul&&li& Master's degree in Special Education or related field or equivalent plus 3 years similar work experience &/li&&li& Three years' experience in the field of special education as a teacher or related field, experience with program evaluation, educational coaching, in-service training, and technical assistance. &/li&&li& Generalist Special Education K-12 or Pupil Personnel Certificate or Idaho Administrator &/li&&/ul&&&&&&b& Preferred Qualifications &/b&&&&&&ul&&li& Four years of special education teacher experience. &/li&&li& Experience as a consulting teacher, supervisor or director of special education or similar position with specialization in supporting special education educators, developing trainings in the areas of instructional strategies supports, in addition to an understanding of the eligibility process and identification of an adverse effect on educational performance and the need for specially designed instruction. &/li&&li& Experience with foundational principles of behavior analysis and positive behavioral approaches in natural settings. &/li&&li& Knowledge about presentation software similar to Articulate 360. &/li&&/ul&&&&&&b&S
