Kelly Services Senior Quality Supplier and Manufacturing Engineer in Billerica, Massachusetts

Our client is a leading supplier of back-end wafer processing capital equipment for the Semiconductor Industry. The technology that they've developed is used by leading semiconductor companies to power the next generation of electronic devices for IoT, (Internet of Things), mobile phones, and other connected devices. Their equipment is used in high-speed wafer processing, and incorporates mechanical, fluid, vacuum, and automation subsystems. Essentially, their products help make electronic devices smaller, faster, and more powerful to improve the quality of lives. They're growing and launching multiple new products.

They're seeking an experienced individual that enjoys doing analysis and making improvements for our Quality Engineer opening. This role works closely with our client's vendors and supply chain to ensure that parts comply with our factory requirements and prevent mistakes from moving further downstream to our production or customers. The incumbent works pro-actively to reduce downtime, costs, and minimize disruption to manufacturing production and ensure customer satisfaction.

The Quality Engineer is also responsible for our client's ISO9001/14001 quality management system, which includes monitoring our processes and procedures to conform to standards, writing/editing procedures, work instructions, and participating in audits and follow up activities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering and field service to resolve closed loop corrective actions, (CARs and 8D), to identify non-conforming parts

  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure successful implementation of quality improvement requests from the factory and conduct audits, as needed

  • Drive resolution of quality issues up the supply chain to eliminate repeat defect events and ensure timely resolutions

  • Administer and drive to close CAPA (Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions) process across the organization

  • Coordinate failure analysis related to supplier issues, driving root cause analysis and document findings to drive corrective actions

  • Support MRB and non-conformance corrective action activities

  • Manage company ISO19001/14001 certification compliance activities

  • Produce clear and concise written and presentation materials and present to management review meetings

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related Technical Discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Prefer five (5) or more years' experience working in a quality and/or manufacturing role with complex capital equipment , (prior semiconductor equipment industry experience strongly desired)

  • ASQ certification desired

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing and specifications; prior Solidworks or CAD experience desired

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of industry-standard manufacturing and quality practices such as ISO, lean manufacturing, and six sigma

  • Ability to analyze data effectively and prepare reports in written or graphical formats

  • Proficiency with MS office applications, (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Self-motivated individual with good interpersonal leadership and team collaboration skills

  • Ability to influence, motivate, and manage across teams

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 lbs. independently

  • May occasionally work in a clean-room environment; must be able to wear clean room gowns and required personal protective equipment when needed

  • Candidates selected will be required to complete a drug-screening and background check
