Job Summary:

The Designer will perform day-to-day activities within the R&D department; new product development projects, enhancements, improvements, and problem resolution for existing product offerings, research of new methods, new materials, etc. The position will also support manufacturing, from a product specification perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the department staff on projects as assigned to include the development of concepts and ideas for new products, as well as enhancing, improving, or solving problems with existing products.

  • Gather and research information regarding current customer needs for the purpose of conceptualizing, visualizing, and developing ideas for improvements to existing products and new products.

  • Develop and determine production specifications for improvements or design solutions for existing products and new products.

  • Develop visual concepts (models & drawings) for improvements to existing products and new products for presentation, review, and discussion with the team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Design or closely related discipline.

  • Minimum of three years designing work experience preferred.

  • Proficient with CAD 3D Solid Modeling. We use SolidWorks.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a group setting.
