Oconomowoc Residential Programs Instructional Aide in Beloit, Wisconsin

The Richardson School is now accepting applications for an Instructional Aide position at out Beloit location! The Instructional Aides are responsible for providing direct care to students and those participating in camp, respite, and other programs. Assists students/program participants in meeting their educational, treatment, behavioral, and hygiene needs as identified.

The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

The Richardson School serves children with a range of intellectual disabilities, including those who are non-verbal. We serve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities, neurological impairments, behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and other neurological disabilities. Children with developmental disabilities, as well as multiple medical conditions, including sight or hearing impairments, are also carefully considered for services, depending on other diagnostic features.

  • Facilitate learning activities for students

  • Accompany students and camp attendees on outings/field trips

  • Requires High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of experience working with special needs students strongly preferred

  • Good judgment and able to make quick decisions and solve problems

  • Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure in high stress times
