We are seeking a Backend APIs Software Engineer to join our team in the development of our pioneering mobile applications and their corresponding backends, including our flagship T-Mobile App. Collaborating with diverse teams, you will decipher the intricate connections between our company's objectives, business strategies, and technological architectures to advance T-Mobile's business goals through the organic or inorganic evolution of our systems and architecture. Job Responsibilities: Backend API development expertise with proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes, and one or more of: Java, GoLang, Node.js Code Review and mentoring of other team members. Extensive experience with debugging tools, Splunk, and techniques for triaging issues within AWS services, Kubernetes clusters, and how Backend Services interact with Frontend Applications. Ability to analyze logs, traces, and performance metrics to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively. Strong understanding of networking concepts and debugging network-related issues. Crafts / builds scheduled jobs and micro-services defining new patterns and orchestrations. Creates / implements data storage mechanisms using relational and non-relational data stores. Uses and configures cloud services using infrastructure as code. Collaborates with team to break down features into user stories and estimate them. Continuously learns new technologies. Ability to offer and communicate ideas and opinions. Ability to learn technologies and an awareness of technology roadmap. Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging engineering practices Education: * Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering (Required) Preferred: 3+ years of experience in API development with expertise in Kubernetes and AWS with one or more of: Java, GoLang, Node.js 3+ years of experience using cloud services from AWS, Azure, or GCP. 1+ years of experience in DevOps with infrastructure as code. Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in API development with expertise in Kubernetes and AWS with one or more of: Java, GoLang, Node.js 3+ years of experience using cloud services from AWS, Azure, or GCP. 1+ years of experience in DevOps with infrastructure as code. 3+ years software engineering experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expected to be able to setup a completely new backend development environment from scratch including build steps and backend infrastructure (Required) Understands web protocols, how backend applications operate and their data flows (Required) Understanding of database modeling and SQL. Capable of performance tuning and refactoring from one data store to another (Required) Additional Job Description * At least 18 years of age * Legally authorized to work in the United States Washington Pay Range : $114,500.00 - $154,900.00 The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed.
