Description

The NXT visual communicator weaves iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help end users successfully navigate Nike products and processes. As a visual communication lead, you’ll delight end users with visual designs that inspire, engage and excite them as well as educate them on the use and manufacturing of Nike apparel technology to be implemented at a large scale.

You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across many platforms by constantly refining the Nike instructional design language and creating innovative, great-looking product and process based documentation and training that services the communication needs of the organization.

The center principle of the visual communicator is to focus on the end user and to work closely with innovators, engineers, cost modelers and factory product innovation teams to manage and help create innovative, usable, great-looking product and process based documentation that can help NXT transfer the “know-how” of the innovation to our inline manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Create,maintain and evolve a look consistent with all of Nike’s visualcommunication standards.

  • Communicateeffectively in a cross-functional product development team and presentideas and designs effectively.

  • Presentthe end user with a visual interface so information is easy to read, easyto understand and easy to find.

  • Marketand promote products, processes and features so end users understand whatthey're getting and what the benefits are.

  • Documentproduct design, material, construction and method of making requirementseffectively as part of NXT technology documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BSdegree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications,product, industrial) or a related field or equivalent practicalexperience.

  • 5+years of experience in a related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficientwith industry standard design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator,InDesign, Sketch).

  • Experiencein Asia-based manufacturing environment and how to influence externalpartners to deliver workload.

  • Excellentproblem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints andlimitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop andmobile.

  • Provenability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas all within auser-centered design and product development process.

  • Mustbe self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet criticalproject deadlines.

  • Excellentinterpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

  • Experiencewith info graphics and representing analytical and quantitativeinformation visually and intuitively.
