We also work to raise awareness with the public, and government, business and civic leaders about the needs of the Chicano/Latino community in the United States. POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for provide outreach and student recruitment for Open Doors Program targeting disengaged Latino youth and for coordinating the Plaza Maestas After School and Summer Learning Programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Peer Outreach Functions: Develop and create a recruitment/outreach strategy with Case Manager and Open Doors team. Attend weekly meetings with supervisor/case manger to discuss strategies and progress. Identify and recruit Latino youth of color to reengage in their education. Track and submit weekly and monthly reports of student progress and enrollment to supervisor. Work with partners to build awareness of the services provided for Latino youth/youth of color reengaging in education. Provide weekly record of hours, assist in conducting intake, surveys, and acadmic and cultural enrichment activities. Meet/check-in daily with students. Work with students both individually and in groups to provide opportunities to reconnect with school and work. Attend school collaboration meetings (staff meeting). Assist parents and students with school enrollment forms. Maintain strict confidentiality of all staff and student information. Assist with translation for Spanish speaking students and/or parents. After School Program Functions: Meets academic and development Performance Commitments as outlined in City of Seattle contract including academic progress, improved English language and literacy skills, increased community or school connection, and increased self-confidence and pro-social skills. Coordinate all aspects of the After School Program in coordination with the After School Program Coordinator and Human Services Director. Conduct outreach and recruitment at Plaza Roberto Maestas, neighborhood apartments, local schools, and other strategic locations. Attend daily After School & Summer classes (alternating between academic and cultural enrichment) Collaborate with After School Program Coordinator with recreational and artistic activities including Friday programming and field trips. Coordinate case management, parent engagement activities, and parent workshops, with other youth programs as applicable. Engage volunteers from local colleges and universities for support of afterschool academic and cultural activities as well as Friday's program activities. Coordinate, plan, and execute the Summer Learning Program, under the direction of the Human Services Director. Other Functions: Tracks and manages participant demographic information and progress toward program outcomes in case files and organizational database. Attend weekly Charlas, staff meetings and bi-weekly meetings with Human Services Director. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
