ExxonMobil Plant Information Engineer in Baytown, Texas

Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil is seeking qualified candidates for a Plant Information Engineer position at the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures. The Plant Information Engineer provides technical and operational expertise for day-to-day support of Refinery and Chemical plant information systems. Primary responsibilities include maintaining process monitoring and data visualization applications. Additional duties include monitoring system health, ensuring compliance with security and controls standards, and maintaining system documentation.

Location: Successful candidates will be hired initially to work temporarily as a member of the Baytown Area Engineering Services, but will be subsequently assigned to a permanent position at the future Gulf Coast Growth Venture facility in Gregory-Portland, TX.

Important Consideration for Candidates

Candidates should apply if they are willing and able to 1) accept an initial temporary assignment at the Baytown Manufacturing Site, 2) accept a subsequent permanent assignment at the future Gulf Coast Growth Venture facility at the time of startup or when requested, 3) live in temporary housing while temporarily assigned to the Houston area with some financial living assistance from ExxonMobil and 4) work for a Company that values strong job performance with periodic performance assessments.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Single Point of Contact for business teams to support process monitoring and data visualization applications including systems upgrades, maintenance, and stewardship

  • Support level 4 Honeywell Uniformance and Siemens XHQ content, configuration and troubleshooting

  • Develop and improve documentation on systems use, sustainment, and troubleshooting activities

  • Assist users with utilizing the system and create job aids, where needed, for various activities users perform

  • Provide proactive communication regarding system outages, issues and workarounds

  • Work closely with team lead and subject matter experts to build skills and competency

  • Engage business and engineering team to maintain comprehensive information availability across multiple platforms

  • Active participant in loss prevention and safety mindset

Job Requirements

  • Computer science or equivalent degree/work experience

  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word. PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Experience with historian system Uniformance and associated Uniformance tools

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Good verbal and written communication in English

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Assume ownership of assigned work and take responsibility for completion

  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively as a member of an operating team

  • Ability to multi-task and make sound judgments in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities

  • Visually creative with applications that require a graphical design aspect
