Introduction

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM CIO is transforming how we provide IBM Internal Cloud services. The group will provide a services environment that focus on Cloud hosting services, Infrastructure Operations and DevOps. We are looking for talented Software Developer to join a team in Austin, Texas.

Customer satisfaction and automation is your key focus and you will be a significant contributor delivering IT Support that will delight our IBM Users. As one of the first to join this exciting new team of collaborative and customer focused advisors, your goal is will be to deliver excellence in solving specific end user problems.

As a creative problem solver you take pride in the service you deliver. You can quickly determine the best and most efficient way to solve a recurring problem. You'll be comfortable in complex technical environments and quickly be able to analyze complex multi-system issues.

Scope expected to support includes the following:

Job Duties:

  • Web-based Application Development based on prioritized requirements

  • Debugging and problem determination of issues that surface

  • You will triage / Application Support including application testing

  • You will interact closely with the Iteration Manager and extended Application support team (ie testers and production support teams)

  • Familiar with DevOps Model

The focus will be on design, development and deployment of key enhancements to

current systems, as well as new development.

You’ll work closely with your squad to continue on our agile journey, moving our legacy

applications to the cloud and supporting tools that are already cloud based applications!

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • 3 or more years experience in web-based application development

  • 3 or more years experience with Java, Websphere, DB2, Spring framework, Liberty profile, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Chef and/or Ruby

  • 3 or more years experience with AIX, Linux, Unix platforms

  • Experience with messaging systems (MQSeries), Rest, and API

  • Experience with relational databases

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile concepts and methodologies5

  • 3 or more years experience in relational databases, DB2
