Carrier is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Corporate IT staff to create, implement, and support key elements of our Service Excellence strategy.

This position will leverage our ServiceNow instance to Innovate, Integrate and Expand our technical service offerings by providing functional direction, establishing SDLC standards, and expanding our functional capabilities. The ServiceNow Platform Architect researches and proposes architectural, integration and platform solutions to meet corporate roadmap goals and strategic plans; ensures that all development activities are executed in a controlled manner; and serves as a mentor to junior developers.

This role is also responsible for participating in the introduction of new and innovative technologies to help the Carrier businesses increase employee productivity and engagement, and increase integration with backend business processes. Expertise in/on the ServiceNow platform, ITSM standards and ITIL framework and ability to communicate effectively are key skillsets

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a dispersed group of Business and Technical SMEs in a fast-paced environment. Provide process and technical solution options, risks and impacts

  • Correlate corporate strategies to functional/product roadmaps and releases. Provide technical oversight to upgrade strategies, release schedules and integration designs. Participate in and provide platform expertise for internal projects as required while serving as technical platform lead

  • Organize and prioritize team workload and to meet established timeframes and deadlines balancing conflicts as they arise

  • Build and maintain customer relationships, be a team player, meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities

  • Manage configuration activities in support of core ITSM, HR & PPM modules

  • Scope, Design, Develop, Test and Deploy ServiceNow form & portal customizations, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, custom apps, integrations, notifications and workflows

  • Establish SDLC standards and governance controls for platform developers. Serve as corporate SDLC SME

  • Maintain the integrity of the ServiceNow system across production and non-production environments. Lead Steering Committee meetings, manage Platform ticket queue and execute quarterly platform account licensing reviews with IT management.

Essential Skills

  • Experience executing ServiceNow upgrades (Kingston or higher)

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication and technical skills

  • Strong experience with LDAP, AD, SSO, Email protocols, ServiceNow workflows, JavaScript or Jelly

  • Experience in design and integrations using OOTB connectors and REST APIs. Scripting capabilities (JavaScript, PowerShell, VB, Perl, Shell, Python or similar) – SOAP & REST API

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

  • Experience with SDLC methodologies including Agile or Scrum

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s). Master’s Degree a plus.

  • The following certificates are a plus

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administration Advanced

  • ITIL v3 Certification

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 10 years designing, developing, administering and supporting technology infrastructure and solutions

  • At least 5 years serving as Lead ServiceNow Technical Resource on a large scale implementation

  • At least 3 years managing 3+ developers

  • At least 3 years experience implementing and/or managing CMDB, Event, Orchestration, Discovery and HR modules. Vendor, CSM, Facilities, GRC or SecOps a plus
