Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds for Mercy Care administrative headquarters and offsite clinic locations, including utilities, cleaning, equipment and general maintenance, storage allocation, repairs, recycling, landscape, emergency preparedness, Biohazard waste management and security. Supports the operations of Mercy Care departments by providing high quality and cost-effective Fleet Management services, while monitoring and analyzing opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. Provides logistical support for the organization with Courier Services for efficient & reliable routing of important documents and materials between clinics and related entities doing business with Mercy Care. Coordinates maintenance and inspection of building and medical equipment including but not limited to calibration in conjunction with local and/or state mandated requirements. Acts as the Safety Officer for the organization, ensuring safety equipment, safety systems and preventative measures remain intact to maintain a safe and responsive work environment. Coordinates state emergency preparedness program as well as On-Call support for after-hours utility impairments and safety/security emergencies. Participates in capital planning, budgeting, distribution of knowledge of operations in areas such as cost-effective facilities management, scheduling of staff, payroll, continuing education, orientation, quality assurance, quality and infection control, biohazard safety and emergency preparedness as appropriate and necessary. Negotiates vendor pricing & services, manages vendor contracts & maintenance including record keeping with the aforementioned. Works closely with facilities management of contracted clinic service sites.

Provides leadership and strategic direction to the Supply Chain department in planning activities, processes, database management and systems, including routine audits as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that optimize inventory accuracy through all phases of the Supply Chain, yielding the ability to effectively forecast & support the demands of the Mercy Care clinics. Analyzes supply chain effectiveness, vendor risk and vendor performance.

*Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0–1-year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a current Georgia driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Four years of experience with similar duties and responsibilities; minimum of three years’ experience in management of personnel and operations.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be familiar with cleaning activities for office, clinic, rest room, and kitchen areas. Must be generally familiar with building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Must have organizational skills to maintain files for supplies and building and vehicle service needs, and supply and warranty needs. Must have knowledge of vendor contract negotiations and maintenance. Must be able to exercise fiscal responsibility in regard to invoices and statements and monitoring of the same. Must be able to select, supervise, train, and evaluate employees. Demonstrated knowledge base of institutional and retail Pharmacy practice, Supply Chain Management and Facilities Management. Knowledge of federal, state, and JCAHO requirements relative to health care management and regulating safe patient administration is preferred.
