Development InfoStructure Database Administrator in Arlington, Virginia

Development InfoStructure LLC., (DEVIS) provides exceptional DevSecOps integration in our agile software development and embedded software solutions, combined with comprehensive IT management and consulting services to our federal, state, and local governments. The outcomes of our research and development, products and universe of services will support the international development community, multiple civilian agencies and the nation’s defense and intelligence communities. Our focused research, services and products include complex DevSecOps solutions to support refugee processing across multiple federal agencies, research and development for Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I), Data Analytics, and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) development and sensor capabilities supporting both the aerospace/defense and intelligence communities, as well as complex HHS comprehensive care coding requirements, and integrated management systems for our countries civilian agencies (FAA, FDIC, HOR, etc.).

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team contingent upon contract award. As a DBA, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will work closely with development teams to design, implement, and optimize database solutions that support our software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet the organization's needs for data storage, retrieval, and processing.

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools to ensure high availability and performance.

  • Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

  • Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including user access management, data encryption, and auditing.

  • Plan and execute database backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.

  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema design, query performance, and indexing strategies.

  • Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities to improve database efficiency and scalability.

  • Stay current with database technologies and best practices, evaluating and recommending new tools and techniques to enhance database management processes.

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, with expertise in managing relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

  • Strong understanding of database management principles, including database design, normalization, indexing, and optimization.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database query optimization and performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience with database administration tools and monitoring systems.

  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices, including user access management, encryption, and auditing.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with development teams and other stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

     

    Clearance Requirements

  • This role requires the hired candidate to go through public clearance.

  • A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is a must to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
