Combining their clinical expertise with leading-edge technologies, our radiologists and staff provide you with the expert care you need. Along with board certification, our radiologists have sub-specialty training and are supported by a team of skilled physician assistants and support staff. A timely report will then be sent to your ordering physician who will provide you with the results.

Saint Joseph Mercy Health CT technologists are registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and have taken additional training in their Radiology sub-specialty. They work very closely with Radiologists to provide comprehensive, high quality, diagnostic studies that assist in diagnosing injury and illness.

POSITION PURPOSE

Operates computerized tomographic (CT) scanners to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and disease. Prepares patients for procedures, administers oral and intravenous contrast media, operates scanners according to protocol using ALARA techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Using department guidelines/protocols, physician recommendations and personal judgment , technologists shall review patient charts and radiological history for each individual patient to determine proper protocol based on the physician’s order, patient history, and to identify any contraindications to oral and or intravenous preps.

Rotates shifts, weekends, and holidays as deemed appropriate by management, including assignments to other campuses.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Education: Requires Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. ARRT(R) registered.

Experience:

Prefer 6 months of CT and or diagnostic imaging experience.

Successful candidate will be subject to mandatory vaccinations/immunizations unless they qualify for an available exemption.
