Job Title: PLC Controls Technician Reports To: Operations Manager Revision: February 6, 2019 Position DetailsProvides Programmable Logic Controls and electrical technical support to the facility to include troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and failures through the use of PLC Software and trade applications. Education and Experience Requirements*Electrical related technical Associates Degree or equivalent electrical/electronic military MOS. *Successful Completion of Skills assessment test preferred however not required. *Preferred Silver Level or above on NCR (National Career Readiness Exam) *PLC knowledge, troubleshooting, Omron programming is desirable and will have preference over those who do not have this skill set. *Experience installing industrial electrical equipment*Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics*Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems*Experience troubleshooting hydraulic equipment, circuits and componentsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities1. Must possess strong working aptitude for the following applications: *Must demonstrate proficiency in the following: Computer Troubleshooting; Digital Electronics; Distributed Control Systems; Electronic Testing; Process Controls; Process Measurement & Control; Programmable Logic Controllers; Electrical Preventive Maintenance; Uninterruptible Power Supply; Electrical Inspection and Motor Lubrication; Motor and Motor Controls; Variable Speed Drives, including AC & DC*Diagnosis and repair of electrical power and control systems and D.C. and A.C. variable speed drives.*Reading and using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams (ISA), blue prints, and drawings as required to install and troubleshoot instrument and electrical systems.2. Visual acuity and verbal communications skills. Self-motivation is key to the position as well as the ability to accurately present information and issues in a timely manner.3. Computer aptitude is required. Must possess basic Microsoft suite functionality.4. Actively participates in failure analysis and equipment / systems troubleshooting.5. Ability to climb, stoop, bend on continuous basis; 50 pounds lifting.Duties and Responsibilities *Following and complying with all safety standards including LOTO*Providing safe and timely electrical support*Conferring with others on job assignments and preventive maintenance, and maintenance work orders*Analyzing, troubleshooting, replacing and installing electrical DC controls and AC controls*Power distribution troubleshooting and electrical installations*Troubleshooting and correcting equipment Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's)*Providing suggestions, designs and upgrades existing equipment controls*Developing, creating and keeping all electrical documentation accurately*PLC programming and modification of programs and devices*Ethernet I/O troubleshooting and setup*Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment*Participating in continuous improvement activities* Ensure production lines are performing safely and efficiently.* Ensure adherence to company operational procedures and OEM SOPs. * Communicate with all Line Members any appropriate operational or quality issues from the production line.* Adhere to Company policy and procedure ensuring all Safety guidelines are followed as well as all employees assigned or within the area of the operation. * Controls Technicians will be responsible for all Electrical, Drive, PLC Maintenance activities across all assets within the operations.
