Da Vinci Science Center Events Coordinator in Allentown, Pennsylvania

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

The Event Coordinator for corporate and social events will play a pivotal role in planning and executing memorable experiences within the Science Center. From corporate conferences and meetings to weddings and private parties, this position will be responsible for supporting efforts to manage, execute, and deliver events at the Science Center. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Event Planning: Collaborate with manager to understand client objectives, preferences, and budget constraints. Support the development of comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets, and logistical arrangements.

2.Venue Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments to secure event spaces and necessary facilities. Ensure that all event spaces are set up according to the client's specifications and Science Center guidelines.

3.Logistics Management: Support event logistics, including transportation, parking, security, and equipment rentals. Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth operations during events.

4.Guest Experience: Focus on creating exceptional guest experiences and providing on-site support throughout the event.

5.Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and print materials. Assist in developing marketing strategies to attract target audiences for corporate and social events.

6.Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback from clients and attendees. Analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes for future events.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

•Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field.

•Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a museum or cultural institution setting.

•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

•Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

•Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

•Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for event coverage.
