Lehigh Valley Health Network Clinical Research Coordinator II - Oncology in Allentown, Pennsylvania
Job Summary: Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II) - Oncology Division, plans, initiates, coordinates, implements and oversees clinical trials in the oncology division of the Network Office of Research & Innovation. The CRC II serves as the main point of contact for patients with cancer, their family members, caregivers, and referring physicians to access clinical trials at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Responsible for coordinating care of research patients with cancer, in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals, to ensure timely, high quality care across the cancer care continuum. The CRC II works with his or her assigned patient population to assure seamless access to oncology care and coordination of the healthcare team, as well as answering questions, referring to resources both within LVHN and throughout the community, and providing education. The CRC II is responsible for creating his or her own schedule to include patient visits, patients' specialist appointments if needed, MDC clinics, case conferences, professional meetings, and tumor boards. The CRC II also participates in outreach activities when requested, to promote services and educate the community. Demonstrates excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills. Must possess leadership skills in order to serve as a mentor to other research staff members to ensure proper conduct of clinical protocols in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Must be flexible to meet priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must display dedication, enthusiasm, commitment, confidentiality, and flexibility with cross-coverage of sites and hours outside of the normal working hours of 7am-5pm.
Minimum Requirements: Graduate of an RN program from an accredited school of nursing with current Pennsylvania licensure required. AND Bachelor's degree in Science OR at least 2 years of direct clinical research experience required
Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience in an acute care/health care setting.
Demonstrates effective communication skills. Demonstrates initiative and is able to function independently as well as inter-dependently. Demonstrates the ability to initiate, accept, and adapt to change. Demonstrates time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in clinical research and/or oncology
Ability to mentor other research staff members in the conduct of clinical research trials and regulatory compliance.
Licensure and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN)
Certification in Research;Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care related field preferred.;OCN
