AHMC Healthcare Server Administrator in Alhambra, California
The Server Administrator, under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology is responsible for providing a wide range of technical services including, but not limited to, relatively complex arrays of hardware, operating systems, applications software, etc., that form the foundation of servers and their toolsets used. The Server Administrator stays abreast of information technology developments, provides opinions on emerging technologies, and aids in practically adopting technology and incorporating it into existing systems and procedures.
This position requires the ability to implement and monitor all activities that relate to the organization’s server environment. Oversees or resolves systems implementation and integration issues. Provide back up as needed to the Server Analyst.
Maintains confidentiality at all times and complies with HIPAA and security compliance guidelines at all times.
Research, recommend, deploy and maintain IT server solutions.
Monitor and maintain a secure environment.
Manage backup and restore process.
Support vendor applications systems in server environment.
Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
Respond efficiently to inquiries external/internal and effectively resolve any hardware and/or software problems. Maintain a log of software and hardware problems detected.
Allocate complex calls to appropriate IT Support member and/or partners.
Participate and assist in implementing the Knowledge Management Process.
Assist Server Analyst to resolve escalated customer and vendor issues.
Provide backup support to Server Analyst.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
Maintain a high level of employee morale within the team.
Disaster recovery planning and testing.
Maintain and enhance cooperative interdepartmental and vendor relationships and communications.
Provide support for data center operations.
Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and training sessions as directed by Director of Information Technology.
Participates in the analysis of Information Technology options to meet research and educational needs as it relates to server technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and second tier on call.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
At least 3 years of experience as a Server Administrator.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Must have the ability to speak, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Design, installation and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft-based networks, including:
Windows Active Directory
DNS, DHCP, GPO
Server Migrations and Upgrades
Back-up and Disaster Recovery
Exchange 2010/2016 (or the most current version)
Exchange support and disaster recovery
Exchange migration experience
Strong active directory, group policy, and exchange skills
Proficient with Microsoft server applications
Experience with SAN and virtualization.
Cloud and / or hosted solutions experience.
Keep up to date on the latest technologies and certificates.
- Advanced degree or equivalent in Information Discipline, MCSE, or related IT Experience.
