Trinity Health Accountant - Medical Associates in Albany, New York

Accountant is responsible for: assisting in the completion of daily, monthly, and yearly supporting documentation reports for a variety of general ledger accounts; general ledger account analysis and reconciliations; statistical reports; clerical and administrative functions.

General Ledger

  1. Timely posting of transactions to the general ledger including but not limited to:

daily deposits/cash transactions, monthly recurring entries, intercompany transfers, eliminations, and reconciliation of the various due to/from related entity accounts. Record patient refunds as they are processed thru the central business office

  1. Prepare bank reconciliation of numerous accounts, post month-end bank fees.

  2. Routine Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and maintenance of supporting schedules including but not limited to: miscellaneous receivable and “due from” accounts,

miscellaneous payable and “due to” accounts, track and maintain monthly prepaid expenses,

track and maintain medical supply inventory balances, cash and petty cash, accounts receivable and allowances, cash clearing account reconciliations and deposit tracking and reconciliation (including daily credit card deposits).

  1. Post journal entries as needed. Organize electronic copies of all JEs.

  2. Track and maintain monthly miscellaneous income received.

  3. Handle all aspects of provider professional expense reimbursements.

Support the Financial Analyst team, the Finance Manager and CFO on projects and spreadsheets as needed, including, but not limited to: statistical information data gathering, support financial analyst team in budgeting process and data gathering, support accounts payable for vacation coverage for deposit preparation and A/P processing. Attend staff meetings and participate with other team members in accomplishing shared goals. Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality patient care and financial reporting. Communicate respectfully and effectively with providers, staff, colleagues, managers and others. Uphold the Trinity Core Value and Standards of Behaviors (Reverence, Commitment for those who are poor, Justice, Stewardship and Integrity). Perform mandatory in-service training, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and adhere to HIPPA regulations and SPHP policies. Other Duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or similar
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and speaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a customer service and deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to effectively operate within Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities.
