Position Description:

Join CGI’s dynamic team charged with developing and modernizing the IT systems for a Federal agency that helps make affordable housing a reality for millions of Americans. As a Project Manager, you will be the primary accountable contact with clients and lead the CGI team, including other contractors, in modernizing large, complex financial systems. This Jouneyman level position is a great way to support a vital Federal mission and join CGI, a premier systems integrator and application development firm.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager and other with team members, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Serving as the accountable manager on the project, and as primary client liaison as well as primary contact with subcontractors

• Developing project management plans, reports and deliverables for quality and compliance with project goals

• Understanding and harmonizing client and company frameworks/policies/procedures with the goal of achieving project objectives that are complaint, of high quality, efficient and yield results

• Hiring and staffing the project; supervising teams and managing the project through all phases of the development life cycle

• Identifying, mitigating and managing project risks

• Ensuring quality work is completed on time and within budget, maintaining financial soundness of the project

• Reviewing and interpreting policies, procedures, goals and objectives to lead project successfully

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

This is Journeyman level position. Successful candidates will possess:

• Successful experience managing complex modernization projects, maintaining project plans, financials and contractual commitments

• Deep understanding of and experience in the mortgage-backed securitization industry

• Strong leadership, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills

• Experience leading projects leveraging agile and CMMI practices and complying with Section 508 requirements

• Superior analytical and problem-solving and resolution skills, and ability to adapt quickly

• Experience achieving results in a positive and professional manner in client-facing situations and in a multi-contractor team environment

• Superior communications (verbal and written) skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated success achieving ATO for a federal customer

• Ability to manage up with senior client and CGI leaders, collaborate with peers at CGI and other firms, and lead a dynamic team of CGI professionals – all while focused on achieving client and project desired results

• PMP certification or equivalent project management expertise

Desired qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related field/equivalent experience
